The Winter Rose Project began with our daughter, Winter Rose. After losing her, we needed a place where her name could keep blooming, and where other families could find a place for their babies too.
Winter was born on September 12, 2026, at 25 weeks. She weighed 12.7 ounces and measured 9.252 inches. We had only three precious days with her before she passed away on September 15.
Three days was nowhere near enough. But it was enough to change our lives forever.
Winter is our daughter. She is Dawson's little sister. She is part of our family, and she always will be. Her life was short, but her life mattered.
Grief can make the world feel very quiet. We wanted to create a place where saying a baby's name never feels like too much, where families can remember openly, and where love has somewhere to go.
The Winter Rose Project is a living memorial space for babies who came too soon, stayed too briefly, or were loved for a lifetime without getting the chance to grow up.
Families can plant a remembrance, share a story, leave a little love, or light a candle. Visitors can simply stop, read a name, and remember a baby they may never have met.
We hope this grows into more than a website. We want it to become a lasting place of remembrance, gentle support, useful resources, and community.
A place for parents. A place for partners. A place for grandparents, siblings, family, and friends. A place where nobody has to explain why a baby who was here for a moment can be loved for a lifetime.
We are starting small, with one garden and one little girl at its center. But we hope every family who finds us can leave knowing their baby's name belongs somewhere.
